The Siamese Fireback Bird , also known by its scientific name Lophura diardi, is a striking species of pheasant found in the forests of Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. It is the national bird of Thailand and is admired for its elegant appearance and vibrant plumage. Males are especially eye-catching, featuring a metallic gray body, a long flowing black tail, red facial skin, and a distinctive crest. Females are less colorful but still beautiful, with brownish plumage that provides excellent camouflage in the wild. This sexual dimorphism is common among pheasants and helps the species adapt to their forest habitat.
